I doubt anyone will read this but I'm awaiting something to go through online. It's so frustrating. I am on my second attempt to order something online and the company is all screwy. The first time they canceled my order and said my card had been declined. My card wasn't maxed and Visa even said they accepted the charge but it was the company who didn't finish the transaction. So I tried again the other day and I received my e-mail confirmation that I placed an order. But, when I log on to my account it shows zero orders. So help them if they have canceled it again due to a "declined" card. Visa is even like, "what the hell". Hopefully it works.

I'm glad I have Friday off work and that tomorrow we get off early to go "party". I was so preoccupied this afternoon I accidentally left work 10 minutes early. I just grabbed my stuff and left. It's not a huge deal, but it so was unintentional!

I keep calling to try and make reservations for Friday night but the stupid place never answers their frickin' phone. It just goes to show that everyone is out to get me.

Positive note, probably the only one of the day, is that I was invited out for Halloween. I haven't dressed up since elementary. Seriously. When I went to the bar for Halloween when I was 18, I don't even remember dressing up. If I had the body, I'd dress up like one of the girls from Chicago. They were hot.

Anyway, gotta change then head to class.

26 days until I leave for my EUROPEAN GETAWAY, as I have named the trip. Family friends just came back from gallivanting around Europe and they said it's awesome. I know it will be, but it just makes me more excited.

In other exciting travel news, we booked our flights / hotel / rental car to go to Seattle for Christmas. Of course, I am very excited to see my grandparents and spend a holiday with them. But, I also won't lie that I have already started a savings plan for Bath & Body Works / Victoria's Secret / Nordstroms. Woohoo!

I love EnCana. The whole company closes for the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month. That is why tomorrow, the first Friday of August, I don't have to work. I also, have Monday off for August long.

If it stops raining I'll go for a run...

So after today (Wednesday) I only have one full day, and two half days left at this job. You'd think I'd be slacking off, winding down. Nope. I actually am working hard to not leave crap behind. Last week I typed up tons of notes and have been occasionally editing them if something pops into my mind.

I'm still in the process of breaking in (having them molded to my feet) my Birkenstocks. I'd give you the link to see the sandals but they aren't on their website. They are black with numerous Swavorski crystals on them. I just kick around the office in them hoping it makes a difference.

My new glasses came in yesterday. I have benefits to use up before I leave Pengrowth so I figured I might as well. I decided to get some plastic frames. I still love my flat titanium ones so this gives me flexibility depending on my mood.

So there was this guy, that a girl I work with wanted to set me up with. Since I wasn't interested from things she had told me I said "nope". He actually is very good looking and such. My friend said "you should give him a shot then, it would at least be fun for a while". I am too commitment oriented to do that though. So I still am single and dateless. It's partly my fault, but why can't a decent guy be available??

I don't understand it. I bitched about not getting the job at my current employer because of a VP that is a prick. Then EnCana calls to say they've made an offer. I handed in my signed offer letter to EnCana today. I followed that up by giving Pengrowth my resignation letter today. I will be a "Mineral Fee Title Validator" and it will be a huge learning curve but I'm sure I'll catch on fast. It's a huge company, but a good company so I'm looking forward to it.

So why can't this happen with guys? When I complain about how stupid the ones are that I meet nothing happens. When I complain about not meeting guys nothing happens. I complain about my job and, boom, I have a new job offer! So incredibly frustrating. Although a hot engineer from work gave me him personal contact info today to keep in touch. Too bad he'd be the type to want it on the first date....see, the guys I do meet just don't cut it for me. Dang, but he is hot...

So I did not get the job at Pengrowth like I predicted in my last entry. The VP of Assholes (also the VP of Geosciences) came to tell me this today and blamed it on HR giving me false hopes. I'm not stupid and I know what he is trying to do and that he was trying to pass off the blame. The HR Recruiter & Manager are away today so he knew he wouldn't have to lie in front of them. I e-mailed them though telling them what he said and they are pursuing it with him on Monday. I also told my current manager who is really supportive about this. She is lodging a complaint about how this was handled. I am much more qualified, already an employee, and the job should be mine. This chick can't even read a location, let alone know anything about a continuation or joint operating agreement. I'm just glad that everyone is on my side because they know what he is like and what he is trying to get away with. It's not just me overreacting. I hate wishing bad things upon people, but what goes around comes around. People already have bets on when he'll be fired. We can only be so optimistic but it seems it's usually the slimiest ass kissers work their way to the top. I have my bitchy side but am apparently too nice.

I officially hate my life, again. Living life this way feels so frickin long and pointless.

I don't think I'm getting the Mineral Land job at work I was told yesterday, and this morning, that I was guaranteed. The VP of Assholes thinks some young receptionist from his old company, with no education should have it. I have no problem with young people working their way up. That's what I have been doing. But it was a fuckin' internal posting which I applied for. I have four courses, one away from my certificate. I also have over three years oil & gas experience. Now he's trying to pawn me off to surface land, hoping I'll be happy with that. Fuck him. I applied for Mineral Land and have been honest with everyone all along that my interest is in MINERAL, NOT surface. I gave HR a slight piece of my mind while trying to hold back my tears. What a fuckin' prick.

This has been a fairly productive weekend. Yesterday I went rollerblading and today I went for a run. I did some shopping, hit up Stampede (which reminded me I'm not so crazy about it), suntanning and baked. Well, among a few other less interesting things. Next up, shower and laying in bed. Either reading or watching TV. If I'm lazy, it'll be TV. If I have the energy I'll read.

I'm sure this weekend will prove to be very interesting. I hope in a positive way. I hope (and pray) that by September 1st guaranteed I will be in a new position. It will have to be a good opportunity otherwise there is no point. I don't want a lateral move. It will have to be something that is more challenging and allow me to develop my skills in land.

Gotta go shower...

I'm so tired for some reason. I worked half a day, ran errands and now here I am. I'm going to a movie tonight. We picked the early time because who knows how late I can make it. Tomorrow I am Europe planning. Manly because we just added a fourth city so we need to research hotels.

The mosquitos are disgustingly rampant. I wonder if I have a slight allergy to them. Some are so large and swollen they look like a tumor the size of a kiwi coming out of my leg. It's nice out this afternoon and I was looking forwarding to spending time in the backyard. The mosquitos are horrible though. I just might die this summer of west nile.

I'm going to lay down...

So I have tickets to tonight's Flames game. If we lose, we are out of the finals. If we win, Saturday we play Edmonton. I would love to go, but I am so stinkin' tired. I just slept the entire ride home from downtown. I gave the two tickets to my family and told them to figure out who is going. Plus I enjoy sharing the wealth with them.

Saturday is my race, then we are going to some fancy Japanese restaurant downtown for dinner. The best perk is the tab is on Pengrowth. Then a latino guy from work is throwing a cinco de mayo party (a day late) so we'll head over to that. Should be good times. I'm going to buy a hot outfit tonight for it. I want a new skirt and top anyway, so this just gives me an excuse.

I think I'm going to walk the dog. I bought a Garmin (gps satellite that tells you your speed, distance etc) so I'm enjoying using it. Oh shoot. I still need to put new songs on my MP3 for this run. I need to do that soon.
